In a global context where sustainability is a priority, BV-Oils is committed to transforming waste into advanced biofuels. This strategy not only reduces dependence on fossil fuels, but also promotes a circular economy that contributes to the reduction of emissions and the use of resources that would otherwise end up in landfills or causing environmental damage.
The process begins with the collection and pretreatment of used cooking oil (UCO). This waste, generated in industrial and domestic kitchens, is subjected to filtration and purification processes to eliminate impurities and solid remains. Once treated, the UCO is converted into advanced biodiesel (UCOME), a biofuel that complies with the EN14214 specification and is characterized by its double counting. This means that every liter of UCOME contributes twice as much to the reduction of CO2 emissions, making it an effective option for road transport and agricultural machinery.
Another key raw material at BV-Oils is animal fats, which come from by-products of the livestock industry and are classified as categories 1, 2 and 3. This process not only reduces organic waste, but also generates a high-quality fuel that integrates perfectly into conventional diesel blends, optimizing energy efficiency.
POME (Palm Oil Mill Effluent) is another key residue in the production of advanced biofuels. This by-product, generated during palm oil processing, contains acidic oils that BV-Oils refines and converts into HVO (renewable diesel) and biodiesel. HVO, which complies with the EN15940 specification, is a renewable fuel with similar characteristics to fossil diesel, but with a significantly lower carbon footprint.
In addition, BV-Oils takes advantage of other sustainable wastes such as vegetable fatty acids, pyrolysis oil from end-of-life tires and distillation residues (BHO). These resources, after specialized treatment, are integrated into conversion processes to produce biodiesel, HVO and SAF (sustainable aviation fuel), contributing to a greener and more responsible industry.
In this way, BV-Oils not only provides high quality biofuels, but also leads a business model based on sustainability, innovation and commitment to the environment, driving a cleaner and more efficient energy future.
